  • Family: Cichlidae (Cichlids)
  • Origin: Native species originate from the Amazon Basin (Peru, Brazil, Colombia); the marble variety is a selectively bred strain in captivity.
  • Popularity: One of the most popular angelfish varieties due to their bold marble patterns, graceful fins, and adaptability in aquariums.

    • White, silver, and black marbled blotches across the body and fins.
    • No two fish have the exact same pattern.
  • Distinctive Features:
    • Tall, triangular body shape with long dorsal and anal fins.
    • Elegant trailing ventral fins.

  • Lifespan: 8–10 years (sometimes longer with excellent care).

🏡 Tank Requirements

  • Tank Size: Minimum 30 gallons (taller tanks are preferred for their body shape).
  • Water Parameters:
    • Temperature: 75–82°F (24–28°C)
    • pH: 6.5–7.5

    • Semi-aggressive — best kept with similar-sized peaceful fish (avoid very small tank mates like neon tetras, which may be eaten).
