🌈 Appearance
Budgies are small, graceful birds averaging 7 inches in length (including the long tail). Their wild coloration is a vibrant green body with a yellow face and black scalloped wing markings, but captive breeding has created an incredible variety of color mutations — including blue, white, yellow, violet, and grey.
They have a curved beak, expressive eyes, and a “cere” (the area above the beak) that changes color with gender — blue in males and tan to brown in females.
