- Origin: Native to the rivers, ponds, and rice fields of India and Bangladesh, where the waters are calm, shallow, and densely vegetated.
- Popularity: A favorite among aquarists for its peaceful temperament, compact size, and golden-yellow color, making it one of the most beautiful small gouramis available.
🎨 Appearance
- Color: Shimmering gold to honey-yellow body, with orange accents along the fins and underside. Males are more intensely colored, especially during breeding.
- Structure:
- Laterally compressed, oval body with rounded fins.
- Distinct thread-like pelvic fins that act as sensory organs.
- Size: Reaches up to 2 inches (5 cm) in length.
- Lifespan: 4–5 years with proper care and water conditions.
